March we started out with Sarah's baptism. We believe that children are not accountable to God until the age of eight. As such, our children do not make the covenant of baptism until they are able to be accountable for their choices. Sarah chose to be baptized and her baptism was March 5, 2016. It was a beautiful spring day and her friend, Roscoe Hamm was also baptized the same day. Here are the pictures.

Of course, Rachel being on her mission meant that she couldn't attend the baptism so we improvised and did the next best thing:

Family pictures afterwards, again compensating for Rachel's absence. We sure miss that girl but wouldn't have her any other place right now. (I've included several takes of the same shot so you can enjoy the varied personalities of my children.)

The last of all our babies to be baptized, seemed like the occasion needed a celebratory kiss!


Now, to contrast sharply with a lovely spiritual event, I give you pictures of a much more earthly and fun event, a spring break trip to Six Flags in Arlington. For spring break, March 13-19, Nathan, Anna, and Jaron went on Trek the 14-16. (I will include a separate post for that after this one.) So I worked the 13, 15, and 16. On the 17th we were supposed to go to Arlington but Caleb and Darik had been sick that week so we postponed it to Friday and Saturday. We left Friday morning and got home late Saturday night. Just like at Christmas, the first half of the week had been in the 80's with the days we were there it was in the 50's! But we just brought all our cold gear along this time and stayed warm enough.

We had a great time even if the weather was rather brisk and some in the group weren't at 100%. Can't wait to go back in June for our family vacation.

Then Easter weekend finished up the month of March. The Easter Bunny came Saturday morning and left baskets for the kids.

And that was our March.
