Spokane Fair

We went to the Fair! Our wonderful real estate agent had access to some tickets and graciously offered them to us. On Saturday we had an open house from 1 to 3, and 3 groups stopped by. Rachel had band practice on Saturday from 8 to 4. We picked her up and headed to the fair. We had a great time! We arrived at 4:45 and left at 8:45. I wish we'd had more time but the time we did have was so much fun.

We had to park way in the back next to the exit so our spot was near the rear gate. One of the first things we passed when entering was the logging exhibit. The guy holding up the bunny ears (below) heard Jason explaining some of the things about the exhibit to the kids and invited Nathan to be a volunteer. We went off to explore and returned an hour later to watch the show and let Nathan participate.

Taking a peek at the monster trucks. Boy, they were loud! We didn't watch them but we could hear them all night.

Checking out the sheep used for mutton busting. We returned later to watch that at 7. It was so fun to watch these little kids try and hang on to those sheep. One little girl made it 7 seconds and was scored just like a bull-rider.
Then off to the horse barn. A miniature horse and her baby were available for petting.

Jaron was a horse in a previous life, ha-ha. He was the only one who wanted his picture taken doing this. He has such an impish grin.

Next was the goats.

Every barn we entered Caleb did this.

He did let go to pet one.

Sarah liked them all well enough if they stayed on THEIR side of the fence.

We stopped to watch this. We thought it looked pretty funny.

At 6 it was back to the logging guy, here he is again and he won that competition.

Then off to the bunnies and birds. Here's a sleepy one we all liked.

And one who was very active, it tried to nibble on Jason.


And because tickets to the fair weren't enough, Deb included some cash to let the kids get "fair food". It was exciting to let them each pick what to have for dinner. And because they all budgeted well, they got dessert too! We are so grateful for the wonderful people in our lives.
