Week ending 5.21.11

Lining up for his last race of the 1600 m on the 17th of May. It was sunshiny but still fairly cool. He decided to run in his warm up pants because of how cold he was. I was in my winter coat because of the blasted wind.


Here's a little snippet of the race. These meets have so many events and kids participating it is difficult to get any results. We have no idea how he did but we're so happy for him participating in track and working so hard to develop his talents. He's a great kid.


Here is one of his long jumps. He improved a lot from last Thursday when he did it for the first time. Unfortunately he scratched at all three attempts but only by a .5 inch each time. If he had started this event earlier in the season he might have it down better. Next year he'll have more experience to work with.



There was a student recognition night at the high school on Wednesday. Rachel was sent an invitation explaining that she was being honored but no details. So we attended on Wednesday night to watch her receive her award. Here is a picture waiting to be called.




It was for PE/Health but it really is for her JROTC class which she loves and excells at.

I've posted pictures of the blue jay's nest and babies. These two birds have an obsession with Stowie. They love to fly to the bush near the computer area and squawk at her. And/or they fly around to the living room side of the house and squawk at her from the front porch. Sometimes they fly back and forth from the front to the back of the house just looking at her. In this little clip you can see one but hear both having "issues" with Stowie.
