We went to visit another geological wonder, the Carlsbad Caverns. We signed up to take the King's Palace tour and loved it. After we were done with the guided tour of the King's Palace we did the self-directed tour of the Big Room. All of the beauty stored beneath the surface of the earth is breathtaking. We all enjoyed it so much. Towards the end of the second tour Sarah just got too tired and Jason had to carry her asleep back to the surface.

Headed down.
In the early 1900's they would hold weddings and receptions down here.
These are stalactites called curtains.
This is a curtain lit from behind with a lamp.
A tower in the Big Room.
Collections of water found throughout the caverns.
Afterwards at the visitor's center.
The view from outside the entrance to the caves.
Another sunny family picture attempt.
After a full afternoon of exploring these caves we drove on in to Carlsbad, NM and had dinner at Chili's. We settled down for the night and were fully asleep by 9.
