Disneyworld 2015

So after all that hard work and sacrifice, the payoff arrived. No, not graduation. That was simply tolerated the same as classes, tests and clinicals. But the real reward came June 6th as we headed east for Disneyworld! We drove as far as Mobile, AL our first night. On the way there we stopped in New Orleans, which added about 20 miles to our trip, and had a late lunch/early dinner down on Canal Street. We had problems finding a parking spot for the van so we got to walk a few blocks and enjoy the ambiance. If you're ever in the "Big Easy" you should stop by Daisy Duke's Restaurant, it was a great meal!

We spent the night in Mobile and on Sunday morning got up and headed East again. We stopped in Pensacola, FL to attend sacrament meeting and we were back on the road by 10:15am. We stopped in Tallahassee for lunch and rolled into our condo about 6:30 that evening. We were tired and headed off to bed for a good night's rest before a week of serious fun! I have to put a plug in here for the Disney Photopass. It was a WONDERFUL way to spend $200! Everywhere you go in the parks there are photographers. They are willing to take all sorts of pictures for you. With the pass you get to keep every one of those pictures and download them to your own computer to use as you see fit. Such a great service and souvenir.

Monday - Animal Kingdom 9am-7pm

Tuesday - Epcot 9am-8pm

Wednesday - Magic Kingdom, went back to the condo to rest from 1-5 during thunderstorms. 9am-1pm, 5pm-10:30pm

Thursday - Hollywood Studios 9am-6pm

Friday - Magic Kingdom again. 9am-11pm

Saturday morning we left at 7am (CDT) and made it home a few minutes before midnight. It's a 14 hour drive and we did it in 17 hours thanks to Jason's super driving! We had a fantastic week with the opportunity to spend nearly every minute of the day together. We only split up for two rides out of all the parks and all the rest of the meals and rides were taken together. It was so wonderful to be able to be together so much after a year of such chaos and looking ahead to Rachel being gone for 18 months.

Album to peruse at your own leisure: (Note, most of the photos are in chronological order. Towards the end they are a little mixed up but it was the best I could do.)
