Homecoming was held in October but the band had to compete and perform at a game that weekend so that made it impossible for Anna to attend the homecoming festivities. Instead, they had to wait for a couple weekends to celebrate. They went to dinner and had a wonderful evening.

November 8th there was no school and it was election day. I didn't have work and Jason played hooky from work to hang out with us. We took the kids to Top Golf (inviting Anna's friend, Tori, to come along with us) for the morning and had a great time eating snacks and playing golf games. They had some some fun games centered on the election and then some great photo props.

Afterwards we ran some errands, one of them was to stop by College of the Mainland so that Anna could turn in some paperwork. While we were waiting for her to get that done we played a game of freeze tag in the parking lot. She joined us for a few rounds after she got done at the school.

Sarah had a Thanksgiving Program on Nov 15th. She did a great job saying her part about being grateful for her (very large) family, calling each sibling by name at the assembly.

I took the kids downtown to the zoo and while we were waiting for it to open we went to the park next to the zoo. The Houston museum district/Hermann park area is a really cool place to visit. The kids were having a great time playing together on the equipment.

Then it was on to the zoo.

I had to work Thanksgiving and the day after. We had our dinner on Wednesday and on Saturday we went back over to SA to visit SixFlags again. We had a great time but learned some important physics lessons. Despite all the roller coasters we have ridden without issue, glasses are still subject to both the laws of gravity and the effects of wind gusts. While riding one of our favorite coasters, the Iron Rattler, Jaron suffered a catastrophic loss of vision-enhancing technology. It's a good thing we carry back-up pairs of glasses in the van so that he could see. We never found them or heard back from the park about locating them later.

Sunday the 27th we set up our artificial tree and started to decorate for Christmas.

November marks the beginning of Cross Country Season here in Texas. Darik gave us one week off of sports as he transitioned his way into XC running.
