Where has the time gone? (Or, February in review)

This was supposed to be a season of taking things a little easier in preparation for school starting May 1st. So why I has it taken me over two months to post anything? I have no idea! But I'll bring you up to speed on February's doings. My parents came to visit February 7th through February 18th. They spent the 10th through the 14th visiting with my grandmother in Sugarland but we got them for both full weekends. During the time they were here we worked on some home improvement projects and spent some time doing fun things like the Children's Museum downtown, caught the movie Frozen, took some family photos and visited Galveston.

So, family photos first:


Trip through Galveston to Bolivar Peninsula via the ferry system. The kids were supposed to have February 17th off from school but because they lost a day of school back in January (see previous post) the school district decided on the 11th that school would be in session on the 17th. We decided we didn't really care, this trip had been planned with the idea that the kids could see their grandparents for two weekends, one being a long weekend, so we took Monday off and ended up having the beach to ourselves!

Finally, the beach!

We celebrated Sarah's birthday Monday evening with a cake and some ice cream. Grandma and grampa got her a cute dress for church as a gift but I didn't get a picture of that.

We held her actual party on Thursday the 20th. She and her friends spent one and half hours at Jump N Jungle and then returned to our house for pizza, cake, ice cream and presents.

She has been 6 now for almost 2 months and loving her life!
