June 2016 (the last 20 days)

Saturday the 11th Jaron and Darik left for Scout Camp at El Rancho Cima. That same morning Anna took her driving test at a private driving school that the state has authorized to administer the test. After a ton of stressing about her abilities to pass, she managed to score well and earn her license. She still had to wait to take all the paperwork and proof of passing to the DPS (DMV in other states) when I could get her there but she got it done! Pictures from camp: As an aside, there had been major flooding at this campground the year before. Some of the pictures are of a picnic table that is still stuck in a tree from last summer.

Anna headed out on Monday morning the 13th for BYU's campus to attend EFY. Like Rachel and Nathan before her, she wanted to spend a week at Especially For Youth. But unlike Nathan, she chose to do it in Provo so that she could check out BYU's campus. She is starting to look at different places to attend school after graduation and she wanted to see what the Y has to offer. For now, she's decided that it might be a good "fall-back" school.She returned the 18th and on the morning of the 22nd we made it down to the DPS and she received this, a license, and she was legal to drive!

June 16th Nathan had his wisdom teeth removed. He handled it well and it was without incident. He rested a lot the first day but was back to his normal activities by the 18th.

Father's day was June 19th and it was a low-key day. Jae opened his card from Rachel with Sarah cuddled up in his lap. (For Father's and Mother's day gifts we decided to buy a smoker for the entire family to enjoy.)

On Monday the 20th Caleb and Sarah headed off to Twilight Camp. This is a Cub Scouting camp for boys 8-10 years old. Sisters can participate in an all-girls group called the Mustangs, if a parent volunteers at the camp. I had to work Mon and Tues but volunteered Wed-Fri. My friend Amy Boehner filled in for me on Mon and Tues which allowed Sarah to go the whole week. Camp is from 3-8 every day. Both of my kids had a great time and even though it's hot and humid, I had a great time with supervising the boys. My only picture from Cub Camp:

Nathan left for High Adventure on June 25th and returned home July 1st, so he was gone during his birthday, like usual. Nathan's High Adventure camp was a wake-boarding camp. I didn't get any pictures from him either. I guess it's a good thing when kids are having too much fun to bother with the camera.=)We did do a small gift and a celebratory lunch at home with Chinese take-out on the 24th. (We got him and Rachel "Team Lindh" wear. Hoodies and sweatpants for the colder weather in UT and CO.)

On June 29th I had the day off and so the 5 kids and I headed down to Galveston to spend the morning on the beach. We missed Jason and Nathan but had a good time chilling. McDonald's was for lunch and we were home by 2.
