On May 15th Jaron had two soccer games. He did well at them. Then we were off to the Lilac Parade that evening to watch for the University High School marching band. The high school invited 8th graders from the incoming middle schools to participate in the parade with them. Rachel chose to do that. She had practices on the 1st (from 8am to 4pm) the 4th, 6th, 11th and 13th to prepare. The Tuesday and Thursday night practices were 2 to 2.5 hours each. She had to be at the high school on the 15th at 5:30 and we got home from picking her up at 11:30 that night. She had a great time and worked very hard to be ready for the parade.
It started at 7:45 and we were able to meet Gramma Lindh (who was in town taking care of cousins Brandt, Holden, Wyatt and Ainsley) and our cousins to watch the parade together. Rae's band was entry number 136 and she didn't make it to our place on the parade route until after 10. We left the parade as soon as we saw her. But we beat the band back to the school and put the kids to bed while waiting. I went and got her about 11.

Impatiently waiting.

It was too dark to get a good picture of her so you're stuck with the sign of the banner, sorry. But we had a good time cheering for her when we saw her.
