Thanksgiving weekend

What a great "weekend" we have had. It was nice to have the kids home since noon on Wednesday. We decided at the last minute, like 8 pm Wednesday night, to invite a family over the next day to join us in our meal. They had already invited a single woman to join them so she got to come along also and be surrounded by ten kids, ages 14,12,10,8,6,5,4,3,2, and 1. It was a hopping place! The kids played inside in the morning and outside in the early afternoon and we sat down to dinner around 3. The snow fell all day long and it was beautiful but messy. We were sad that Gramma Ski and cousin Megan were not able to travel here for the weekend but we are glad they were safe and warm in Portland.

We got a lot of snow this weekend and the kids had a great time playing in the yard in it. They went out and built a huge snowman in the front yard with Jason. Anna isn't in those pictures because she was over at a friend's house when they did it. We missed her, though.

On Sunday the 28th we invited gramma and grampa Lindh down to join us (watch the hysteria) as we decorated the Christmas tree.

Every year we buy each child an ornament (half-off the day after Christmas) that represents that year for the child. They had a great time looking at ornaments from years past and learning why we chose that particular one that year. They loved the stories. Caleb and Sarah were a little bummed to not have as many as Rachel and Nathan so we let them hang some of ours (mine and Jason's) as we get one for ourselves each year also. That helped. It's a beautiful tree and a crazy Christmas season to come.
