Gramma Ski came to visit

Gramma Ski and cousin Megan arrived for a visit on June 16th. A few hours after they arrived Nathan headed out for a two day campout with his troop. They had a great time and went fishing. Nathan learned that carrying sunscreen is an ineffective means of preventing sunburn. He got the worst burn I've ever seen on a face. His nose was swollen, it weeped, it peeled, it scabbed, it was BAD!

Rachel left a few hours after Nate to attend a Youth Conference for Friday and Saturday. She spent the Thursday night at her friend's house because they were leaving at 6 in the morning for the conference. She also had a great time and did not go fishing. She WAS up in the woods but the youth (ages 14-18) did some service projects at a Scout camp facility as well as play games, learn lots and such.

The rest of us had a good weekend though we missed the oldest two. We took the kids to a perennial favorite, Chuck E Cheese. I took a few pictures.

Nate and Rach returned Saturday evening and then it was time to do laundry and pack. Sunday we attended church. We came home and had a hasty lunch and then headed for Modesto, CA. We spent the night there and left the next morning about 8 for Madera, CA. We arrived about 9:30 at my grandfather's home. We had a little potty break, rearranged some luggage and seat assignments and headed up to Fish Camp, CA to his cabin in the woods.
