Spring Break 2013 day 3

We did the same thing as the day before with Jason coming home from work at noon. We drove one hour to the west to a place called Brazos Bend State Park. This park has two claims to fame. The first, a cool observatory that is free to the public, was not the reason we were there for this visit. The second, live, free-roaming alligators, was. Come, enjoy our pictures of alligators we encountered walking around the park. We made a stop at the education center before heading out to the park.

This young man was showing us a snake that is indigenous to the area.
Petting a bay alligator.
Now for the real things and some turtles too!

And the "big picture" of the previous one.

There were a lot of alligators that we saw and I'm not posting every picture we took that afternoon. But as a sidenote, as I was prepping this post Anna walked in and saw the pictures and said, "Oh, the alligator park! That place was so cool!" So it was worth the drive to go and check it out.
