A few cousins visit

At the end of our Staycation, August 11th, my mom was able to come and visit. She brought Megan, Celina's daughter and Addy, one of Celina's stepdaughters, to come and visit with her. The kids had a good time getting to meet a new cousin and we had a nice, relaxing week. They had to leave the 16th so it wasn't a very long visit. Our plans for the week changed several times so we basically did "nothing" which is a great summer activity.

There were a few swimming days and lots of playing and some back-to-school shopping with Gramma. My mom and Jason designed some "nerf" swords for the kids to play with, made of pool noodles and very flexible pvc piping. These are the only pictures from the entire visit. I was fiddling around with my camera and rediscovered the ability to take black and white photos so I tried it out that night.

There were quite a lot of fires around the region during this time in August and the valley was often full of smoke. It was a little irritating to the throat and some days were better than others for the haze but we survived it just fine. It did make for some awesome pictures of the sun because of the filter of smoke.
