Silverwood

On August 14th we went to Silverwood. This last spring our kids had the opportunity to earn tickets to Silverwood, a local amusement park. We invited Nicci, Jason's sister, to go with us. She was such a great help! She, Rachel, Nathan and Anna were able to run around the park as a foursome and had a great time. Jason and I took Jaron, Darik, Caleb and Sarah to do the kiddie rides. We only got pictures of the kids with us and none with Rachel, Nathan, Anna or Nicci. We took some video but none of it turned out very well, the rides move too fast and the video camera is too far away. We did have a good time but it's hard to take care of that many kids AND take good pictures at the same time. So we'll count it a success that all the people who arrived that morning at Silverwood made it home with us that night. No one got lost or hurt and all of them said they had a great time! Next time we'll try to take more pictures, I think we need two cameras for a situation like that. Thanks to Nicci for spending the entire day with her nieces and nephew and allowing us to focus on just half the bunch. The kids are already planning next year's trip.

This last week had nothing note-worthy go on. Outside of the fact that Caleb has decided he doesn't want to wear diapers anymore. So we're in underwear and potty training cuz running around naked is not an option. We're muddling along and he's sort of getting the hang of it. We'll see how it goes long term and who gives up first. He's a strong willed child (aren't all of them?) so that might be enough to get us through this. I wasn't quite ready to do this but no one ever asks the mother. Wish us luck. Lanae

SO glad you had fun at Silverwood! Having that third adult there sounds like it made a big difference. HEY, the kids had a great idea :) How about next year we take our two families to Silverwood together? Hey, how much FUN would 14 children be at a place like that?!

By the way, LOVE the new blog look and photos!

NIce idea with the day-glo orange shirts. Isn't that the color used for emergency equipment?

Great pictures of the family. Your doing such a good job at this Lanae. I don't know when you find the time to do it. You are very organized.
