Anna was honored at school last week for being the student of the month. The date on it is the 30th of January but it just came home last week.
Nathan's log cabin project for a book his class read. He got a 3+ on it, way to go Nate.
Anna is running for ASB Historian at school. She had to give a speech today and this is a picture from that. She did a great job at her speech and we don't know how the student body voted. She's running against two other girls.
Rae was playing at the computer today and Rah climbed up in her lap and promptly fell asleep. Everyone else in this family finds Wizards 101 a fun, entertaining game. Maybe Sarah's interest in games is about the same as her mother's.
While Rachel was at softball practice today the rest of us went to a nearby empty lot for sale and cleared some rocks off of it for free. We called before and asked the real estate agent if we could and she contacted the client who had no problem with it. So we added some littler rocks to the border between the lawn and the hillside and then we put some bigger rocks on the hillside to help with erosion. The landscaping guys who were here last week suggested that they'd love to do something like that for us, for a fee, of course. I came up with my own solution, much cheaper!
The rock border used to stop just under the double pine trees. It goes much further now. I think we'll make one more trip later this week.
It rained all morning and part of the afternoon so no one came to seed or to cut the concrete. Hopefully that will happen sooner than later.

I LOVE the picture of Sarah on Rachel's lap, that's precious.
Where did you look to find the empty lot for rocks? We did that for our entire backyard when they were building the Super-Walmart, and just last week we were discussing how we need to find some place for more rocks in the front yard! Where do you recommend looking first? After, of course, your gather YOUR rocks :) Call me!
So...not only did you spend a considerable amount of time on the phone (I know, because a lot of it was with me), but you also got rocks, went to Anna's speech (or at least got a picture of it somehow), took pictures of various kids' projects, and managed to blog about it all?! Besides all the other regular business of running a large household. Makes me tired just to think of it. I am contunually amazed!
