Nathan's "graduation"

Nathan had a "graduation" assembly for all the 5th grade Able students. That's the talented and gifted program that he is in. It was a nice little ceremony. They had the valedictorians from both CV and U-High speak, they were both former Able students. They each did a good job and gave good relevant advice to these kids moving on to middle school. They each received a certificate.

Gotta love gyms for their lighting.

We also found out today that Anna was not elected Historian. She was disappointed but handled herself with grace and humility. She did not cry, she congratulated the other two winners and she was pleased with herself for running for office. She thinks she'd like to try again next year. Not sure how I feel about that. I don't care for watching a child go through this but seeing as she conducted herself so well I guess we could try again. These learning experiences are hard for everyone involved but they build character for each of us. And seeing as that's what we're here for... I guess we'll give it a go again next year.
