I forgot my camera at 4:45 this morning and I have to give credit to Heather for taking these pictures and forwarding them on to me. The boys met at 5am on July 5th. This is why we didn't spend the night in Elmer City to watch fireworks above the Grand Coulee Dam the night before. Nathan got to attend Scout Camp at Camp Grizzly in Idaho for the week of the 5th - 10th. He had a great time and was able to earn several merit badges.
He learned a lot about tracking, leather working, archery, and environmental science. He earned badges in all of those areas. He did not pass off the merit badge for swimming because it was just too cold for him to do that. (When you're built as lean as Nathan it can be hard to swim in a lake at 10 am if it's not really hot, and it wasn't really hot.) I think he grew up a lot that week. Being away from home, out of your personal comfort zone, working with a lot of different people can be challenging and he rose to meet that challenge. We're very happy for his ability to have this experience. He is looking forward to next year already.
